How it works
Relevant opportunities, clear expectations, organized applications.
RemoteGigs is built around one idea: you should spend less time sorting through unsuitable roles and more time on work that fits. Here is exactly how the platform does that, and what it never does.
How it works
From profile to application, without the noise.
Create your profile
Tell us your skills, rate, availability, and how you want to work. Set must-haves we will never override.
Discover your matches
Our matching reads each listing against your preferences and explains why it fits, including any gaps.
Apply with clarity
Structured applications with clear requirements, and a tracker that shows every status change.
How matching works
Matches you can actually understand.
Matching combines what the job asks for with what you told us about your skills, rate, availability, and location preferences. Every match comes with a plain-language explanation, so you always know why a job appeared in your feed.
Must-haves first
Engagement type, location eligibility, schedule overlap, and your minimum rate filter jobs before anything is ranked. A hard limit, like 25 hours a week, excludes roles above it. We never silently override your settings.
Flexible preferences rank, never gate
Skills and preferred categories decide order. When you allow flexibility on something like hours, a conflict is labeled Review schedule fit instead of hidden.
You stay in control
Pause matching, change availability, or broaden your criteria at any time. Suggestions support your decisions, never make them for you.
Why this match
Strong fit: React Developer, Booking Platform
- Your React and TypeScript skills match the required stack.
- The USD 70–90/hr range is above your USD 60/hr minimum.
- 20 hrs/week sits within your 25 hr weekly cap.
Missing information, kept separate
The listing does not state its start date. Missing details are flagged as unknown, never assumed in your favor or against you.
Illustrative example using the same profile as the hero. Match explanations describe fit, never your chances of being hired.
How listings are reviewed
Real checks, explained plainly.
Every listing and employer goes through a review before appearing in search and matches. A badge means a specific check was completed, never a guarantee of employment or payment.
Email confirmed
The employer verified control of their contact email address.
Employer reviewed
We checked the company identity, website, and contact details for consistency.
Listing reviewed
We checked the role for clear scope, pay information, and common scam signals.
Ready when you are.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
How does matching work?+
We compare each listing against your skills, rate, availability, and location preferences. Jobs that fail your must-haves are filtered out before ranking, and every match includes a plain-language explanation.
Do I need an account to apply?+
You can browse all published listings without an account. Creating a profile unlocks personalized matches, saved jobs, and in-platform applications.
What does remote actually mean here?+
We distinguish Work from anywhere from Remote with restrictions. Country limits, required time-zone overlap, and any travel expectations are shown prominently on every listing.
What does a review badge mean?+
Badges show which checks were completed: email confirmation, employer review, or listing review. They describe checks done, and are never a guarantee of employment or payment.
Who can see my profile?+
Only you, by default. Being discoverable to employers is a separate opt-in, and you control which fields are visible. You can pause matching or hide your profile at any time.
