Terms of service

Plain-language version reflecting how the platform operates. The formal terms are published before launch.

The service

RemoteGigs is a job board that connects independent workers with remote freelance, contract, and project-based opportunities. We provide discovery, matching explanations, structured applications, and tracking. We are not a party to any working agreement between a worker and an employer, and we do not provide payment processing, payroll, or employer-of-record services.

No guarantees

We do not guarantee work, earnings, matches, or that any application will receive a response. Review badges describe specific checks completed on an employer or listing; they are not a guarantee of employment, payment, or legitimacy, and we never present them as such.

Worker responsibilities

Profile and application information must be accurate. AI tools on the platform may help with wording but must not be used to invent qualifications. You are responsible for the content you submit.

Employer responsibilities

Listings must describe genuine work with clear scope and honest pay information. Employers must not request upfront payments or sensitive financial information from workers, must make their own hiring decisions (AI suggestions never auto-reject candidates), and may only access their own organization's applications and profiles of workers who opted into discovery.

Moderation

We may request changes, reject, pause, or remove listings, and suspend employers who breach these terms. Removed content is excluded from search, matching, and alerts. Moderation actions are recorded in an audit history.

External listings

If a listing is hosted externally, it is labeled Apply on employer site. We do not treat an outbound click as a submitted application and do not claim knowledge of external application status without a reliable integration.

Accounts and termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, with notice where appropriate.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for agreements, payments, or disputes between workers and employers.
